The World of Trees and Structure

Welcome to an arboretum of approximately four acres in Sonoma County, CA. We are in USDA Zone 9b and Sunset Zone 16, receiving maritime influence all year, as we are situated roughly 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The Petaluma Gap in the coastal hills increases our mildness in both heat and cold  weather. Thus, the arboretum has magnificent trees that thrive in Zone 5, such as Fagus sylvatica, and those that shine in zone 10, like Banksia or Hakea. Choosing the proper spot is critical; some need expose to wind, some need protection. This arboretum  contains both trees and shrubs, both of which are considered 'woody plants'. It also has numerous plantings of statuesque succulents, such as Aloes. Woody plants and many succulents boast attractive structure, foliage and year-round interest.
